Benefit Car Wash and Rummage Sale

Old Fella Animal Rescue will its spring fundraising car wash and rummage sale, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, March 27, at the Southern Bank in Waynesboro.

CNB Benefit Dinner Theater

Tickets are still available for the March 25 dinner theater to benefit the Center for New Beginnings. Actors from Burke County High School and Edmund Burke Academy will perform at 6:30 p.m. at the Burke County Office Park. Each $30 ticket will go entirely to the non-profit center, thanks to underwriting from William Mizell Ford, the Greater Augusta Arts Council and Grassroots Arts Program. Blood Drive

The Shepeard Community Bloodmobile will be in Waynesboro Tuesday, March 30 from 1-6 p.m., at the Wardlow Building, located at the corner of Seventh and Academy.

Donate and register for a chance to win a $2,500 VISA gift card.

Bake Sale

The women of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church will hold a spring bake sale 9-10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 27, at St. Michael’s Parish Hall, 515 Liberty St., Waynesboro. The sale will include Master’s and Easter goodies made from scratch such as cakes, pies, cookies, Mrs. Shirley’s famous sweet rolls, cheese balls, shrimp balls, appetizers and frozen casseroles ready to bake.

GOP Meeting The Republican Party of Burke County will hold an organizational meeting, 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 30 in the courtroom of the Burke County Court House. The public is invited to attend.

Augusta Tech – GED


Augusta Technical College will hold GED testing at 9 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month at Burke County Alternative School. The next session is scheduled for Thursday, April 15. Pre-registration is required. For more information, contact Tameka Gordon at 706-437-6801.

Title I/21st Century

Dinner Theater

All Burke County Public School parents and employees are invited to attend an evening of entertainment and information. The event will be held at Burke County Middle School on 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 22. There will be two brief presentations on how to read the CRCT and GHSGT test results. There will also be door prizes and performances from magical educator Chad Crews and the All-County Chorus. Required reservation forms will be sent home with students on April 12, and are due no later than April 16.

BCHS Plant Sale

There will be a plant sale at Burke County High School, March 30-April 2, from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Retired Educators

The Burke County Retired Educators Association will meet 3 p.m., Thursday, April 1, at the Burke County Senior Citizens Center. Program guest is June M. Powell of Burke County Middle School.

Burke County Comprehensive Class of 1994 reunion will be held Oct. 23, 2010.
