Friendly Fire

The Bears battled it out against each other on the gridiron last Friday in their annual inter-squad scrimmage. The blue and white game allowed Burke County High School’s football players a chance to test their talent in a game situation and gave fans a sneak peak at what to expect from a new starting quarterback and plenty of up and coming young players. The Bears will host their first opponents Friday at 7 p.m. for a scrimmage against neighboring rival Jefferson County. “The kids are working hard,” head coach Eric Parker said. “Hopefully, this community is excited and looking forward to some high school football.” The Touchdown Club will also host its first meeting at 5:30 p.m. that evening and is continuing its membership drive.
