Touchdown Club takes orders for rings

From Staff Reports

The Burke County Touchdown Club has released the artwork for its commemorative ring, to mark the Bears’ historical 2011 season.

The ring, designed with help from Bears head coach Eric Parker, is available to members of the club and other fans. The ring is different from the players’ state championship rings and may be personalized with a fan’s name.

The shiny souvenirs will run $300 for club members. Non members must pay $315, which includes the cost of joining the club.

All proceeds from the commemorative ring sales will benefit the Touchdown Club, which provides funds to the football program to offset the costs of camp, coaching workshops, equipment, meals and buses, according to Earl Huddleston.

Throughout the year, club members also sell t-shirts and other souvenirs as well as run the concession stand to help support the team.

Orders may be placed now for the rings and a second round of orders will be taken in the next couple of months.
