Twice upon at time

Communities In Schools of Burke County recently held its “Twice Upon A Time Family Reading Challenge” at Waynesboro Primary and SGA Elementary Schools, challenging students and their families to read at least two books per day for two weeks. Nearly 130 students accepted the challenge, and the top three readers were selected from each school. At Waynesboro Primary, Payton Palmer, above left, won first place with 84 books; Walden McClellan, above right, placed 2nd with 80 books; and Ty Black took 3rd with75 books. At SGA, pictured below, 1st place went to Demond Jackson Jr. who read 70 books; Landon Sizemore won 2nd place with 35 books was Landon Sizemore; and Jaedyn Cooley read 34 books to for 3rd place. All of the readers earned certificates, and the top readers received prizes.
