A fresh start

Waynesboro’s newest restaurant has welcomed a steady stream of customers through its buffet line since opening several weeks ago. Butterball’s Diner, located in the former location of KFC on North Liberty Street, has a host of soul food dishes on the menu ranging from ribs and chicken to greens and peas. Owners Joe “Butterball” and Rosa Roberson say their big focus is on serving fresh foods and keeping the canned variety away from their kitchen. Butterball’s serves breakfast, lunch and supper, beginning at 6 a.m. Monday-Saturday. The diner opens at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
