What's Next?


Better Brain Better Behavior, a free workshop sponsored by the Center for New Beginnings will be held 10 a.m.-noon in the Burke County Library meeting room. Participants will learn how brain function in a child causes difficulty learning, chronic inattention and social struggles. This is a practical workshop on how to help children who are struggling with academic, social and behavioral issues. Contact CFNB 706-437-0505 for further information.

Waynesboro-Wadley Georgia Clients Council will hold its annual conference, 8:30 a.m.- 2 p.m., at the Wadley Community Center, 134 College Street. For more information, call Isabelle Harper 706- 437-9816.


Burke County Retired Educators Association will meet 3 p.m. at the Burke County Senior Citizens Center. Sen. Jesse Stone of District 23 will be guest speaker.


A Free Diabetic Teaching will be offered in the Burke Medical Center classroom, 6-8 p.m. The course is designed to help diabetics learn how to better control their diabetes through healthy eating. Participants should eat before they come and are encouraged to bring along their partners or anyone else who helps with food preparation. Space is limited and pre-registration is encouraged. WHAT’S NEXT is a complimentary service for non-profit Burke County groups hosting free public events. A fundraising event with an admission fee may be included for $10 per week, paid in advance.
