Lenten Services

The Burke Black Churches Benevolent Association will continue Lenten season services through Easter Sunday. The next three are: 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 26 at Metropolitan Church with Rev. Willie B. Tomlin; 7 p. m., Wednesday, April 2 at Thomas Grove with Rev. Nathaniel Dunn; and 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 9 at Haven-Munnerlyn with Rev. Tony Bush.

Barrett Grove

Barrett Grove Baptist Church will hold a Youth Day program, 10 a.m., Sunday, March 30. Minister Wendell Smith, Associate Minister of Beulah Grove Baptist Church of Augusta, will deliver the sermon.

Ladies Event

Rosemont Heights Baptist Church will host a women’s event, Thursday, March 27, 6- 8 p.m. featuring guest speaker Michelle Sterling of Curtis Baptist Church. The event is free and open to all ladies in the community and childcare will be provided at the church. Call the church office at 706- 554-2468 for more information.

St. John & Mills Grove

St. John Baptist Church of Girard will hold an Installation Service for Pastor Clinton B. Bates, 3 p.m., Saturday, March 29 at the Mills Grove Baptist Church of Sardis. Rev. Willie B. Tomlin of Thomas Grove Baptist Church will be guest speaker.

Watkinsville

Watkinsville Baptist Church will celebrate its first Youth Choir Anniversary, 3 p.m., Sunday, March 30. The church will also continue its Teens Living for Christ – an “intense week” of fellowship, songs and preaching for all local youth. The program begins 7 p.m. nightly through March 27 with guest speaker Rev. Terrence Thomas of Nazarene Baptist Church of Fairfax, S.C.

Green Branch

The Green Branch Christian Faith Center Women’s Ministry, located at 3254 Highway 25 N in Hephzibah, will hold a fellowship and meeting at noon, Saturday, April 5. Guest speaker is Janice Peoples, copastor of the Faith Outreach Christian Life Center.

Haven-Munnerlyn

Haven-Munnerlyn Methodist Church will hold its annual Sunday School Union, 10 a.m., Sunday, March 30. All five connected churches are invited.

Red Hill

Red Hill Baptist Church will host a Calendar Rally, 5 p.m., Saturday, March 29. Pastor Marion Dukes and the East Macedonia Baptist Church family are in charge of the service.

Second Springfield & Cochran

Second Springfield and Cochran Grove Baptist Churches will celebrate their Youth Choir Anniversary, 3 p.m., Sunday, April 6 at Second Springwood, located on Idlewood Road.

Ward Grove

Ward Grove Baptist Church will hold its annual Spring Revival, 7:30 p.m. nightly, April 2-4, with special guests Rev. Berry Rogers and the Gordon Hill and Thankful Baptist Church family. Ward Grove will also celebrate its annual Men & Women’s Day, Sunday, April 6 beginning with Sunday school at 10:45 a.m. Worship leader is Sis. Gladys Johnson of Forest Hill Baptist Church.

New Birth

New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, located at 847 Shadrack St. in Waynesboro, will host its annual God’s Rainbow Program, 4 p.m., Saturday, April 5. The program and rainbow feast in the fellowship hall are presented by the Pastor’s Support Ministry.

Green Branch

G.L.O.W. will present Jump Start, the Green Branch Christian Faith Center Women’s Ministry, at noon, Saturday, April 5. The church is located at 3254 Highway 25 N in Hephzibah, and guest speaker is Pastor Janice Peoples of the Faith Outreach Christian Life Center.

Metropolitan

Metropolitan Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Men and Women Day Program, 11 a.m., Sunday, April 6.

Murphy Ebenezer

Murphy Ebenezer Baptist Church will host its annual Family and Friends Day, 3 p.m., Sunday, April 6. Rev. John Lockhart and the Fellowship Baptist Church of Augusta family are in charge of the service.

Mount Tabor

Mount Tabor African Methodist Episcopal Church will hosts its annual Men and Women’s Day with a kick-off Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m. Rev. Gary Kerr, pastor of First Baptist will be the Proclaimer and the congregation will be in charge of the revival.

Men and Women’s Day will be Sunday, March 29 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Lola S. Gresham Russell, pastor of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Norwood, will be the guest proclaimer.
