Thirteen schools and 15 teams participated in Monday’s tournament.

The Edmund Burke Academy Spartans finished the day in second place, falling only to Augusta Preparatory Day School. Region foe, Frederica, took third.

“A cold and windy morning got us off to a slow start but we were able to finish well. We continue to struggle with those region AAA schools,” said Coach Mike Smith. Carter Mobley had the low round of the day with a 77. Jay Mobley finished just one stroke behind with a 78. Michael Quick and Ragan Bailey shot 81 and 85, respectively, for a team total of 321.

“We continue to improve as the season goes on and are working on getting where we need to be by the end of the season,” Smith said.

NEXT ROUND

The Spartans play at home tomorrow (Thursday) and again Monday. Tee time for both matches is 2 p.m.
