Faith Christian Academy invites prospective students and families to tour its new facility and attend spring Open House, 6-7:30 p.m. FCA, located at 726 Hwy 24 S, offers a college preparatory Christian Education for grades K3-11. A Food Giveaway will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church of Girard, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (while supplies last). The giveaway is open to all in need.

The Burke County Republican Party will meet, 9:15 a.m., at the Burke County Library. Congressional 12th District primary candidate Rick Allen will be guest speaker. Refreshments will be served. There will be door prizes of donated gifts.

An Affordable Care Act Session and Enrollment will be held 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Burke County Library Computer Lab. Assistance will be given to those needing to enroll by the March 31st deadline.

Taking It To Another Level, a program for high school juniors and seniors in Burke and Jefferson counties, will be held, 10 a.m., at Smith Grove Baptist Church. Dr. Anthony Robinson, event facilitator and professor of the GRU Business College, will talk about preparing for post-high school options. The Annual Burke County Middle & High School FFA Plant Sale will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 1 and continue through Friday, April 4. The sale will be held at the BCHS greenhouse and close each day at 5 p.m.

A Burke County Relay for Life meeting will be held, 6 p.m., in the parish hall of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church on Liberty Street. The meeting is open to anyone interested in participating in the May 2 event.

The Waynesboro Lions Club will meet, 5:30 p.m., at the Lake View Restaurant. All members and those interested are encouraged to attend the meeting.


A Relay for Life All-Team Yard Sale will be held, 8 a.m., in the Waynesboro City Park and parking lot of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. There will be lots of great bargains with all sales benefiting the local fundraiser for cancer research.

St. Michael’s Spring Bake Sale will be held, 9 a.m., in the church parish hall, 515 Liberty St. next to the Waynesboro City Park. The sale is sponsored by the Women of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and includes homemade cakes, pies, cookies, Miss Shirley’s famous sweet rolls, cheese balls, pimiento cheese, shrimp balls, appetizers, crab stew and frozen, ready-tobake casseroles.
