PHOTO – SHELLEY COBLE PHOTO – SHELLEY COBLE Highway 80 traffic was backed up Monday morning after two log trucks collided. According to Chief Deputy Larry Lewis of the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, the empty truck was attempting to turn around near the Coursey Road intersection when it was struck by a loaded truck headed toward Waynesboro. While damage to the trucks was extensive, neither driver was seriously hurt. Deputies and state troopers diverted traffic for more than 2 ½ hours until the road was reopened.
