Black History Month Cornerstone Christian Center Church of Waynesboro will celebrate Black History each Sunday in February during its 9 a.m. service. Programs will include guest speakers, prophetic African dance, black entrepreneurs, and end with HBCU Sunday. These events are free and open to the public. Prayer and mediation Kingdom Builder Women’s Ministry will hold a Prayer & Meditation service noon-1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 at the Burke County Library. Service includes breaking chains, dealing with real issues, breaking generational curses.

Love Connection Jones Grove Baptist Church will hold its “Love Connection” program 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10. The Rev. Donald Long, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church will be the guest speaker. The Rev. Melvin Habersham invites the public.

Usher’s Anniversary Oak Grove Baptist Church of Girard will celebrate its Usher’s Anniversary 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11. The Rev. Shellie Sapp, along with the St. Paul Baptist Church of Girard, will be in charge of the service. The Rev. Willie Callaway Jr. invites the public.

Black History Service St. Mary Baptist Church, Girard, will hold its annual Black History service Feb. 11. Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m. followed by worship service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Smalls of Savannah, along with the Rev. Haydan Ingram will deliver the message.The public is invited.

Pastor’s Anniversary Blount Chapel Baptist Church, 684 Blount Chapel Road, near Vidette, will celebrate its third Pastor’s Anniversary 2 p.m., Feb. 11.The Rev. Tommie L. Johnson and the Ebenezer Baptist Church will be in charge of services. The public is invited.

20th Pastoral Anniversary Gospel Explosion Outreach Ministries, 431 Old Sardis Road, Sardis, will celebrate its 20th pastoral anniversary honoring the Rev. Willie Jones Jr. 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16. The Rev. Alexander Dwight of Columbia S.C. will be in charge of the service. The public is invited.

The Sensational Nightingales Phillip Grove Baptist Church will hold a gospel sing featuring The Sentational Nightgales of Dunham, N.C. 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16. Admission is free, a love offering will be taken for the group. The Rev. Elliott Bing invites the public.

Choir Anniversary Blount Chapel Baptist Church, 684 Blount Chapel Road, near Vidette, will celebrate its 2018 Choir Anniversary 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 17. The Rev. Cornelius Smith invites the public.

Paine College Day Mt. Zion Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 2447 Hwy. 23, Waynesboro will hold its Paine College Day 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18. Keynote speaker will be Dr. Jerry Hardee, president of Paine College. Theme for the event will be: “We’ve come this far by Faith, Love and Sacrifices 1882-2018.” The Rev. Larry Fryer invites the public.

Family and Friends Fellowship Fairfield Baptist Church will hold its annual Family and Friends Fellowship 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18. The Rev. Gordon A. Thomas and the Ross Grove Baptist Church family will be the special guests. Dinner will be served in the fellowship hall. The public is invited.

Marriage conference The Savannah River Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of America is sponsoring a free marriage conference at Cliffwood Presbyterian Church, 2525 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Feb. 23- 24. Topics include the biblical foundation for marriage, planning for marriage, children in marriage, conflict in marriage, and preserving your marriage. Included during the weekend is a dessert social and continental breakfast. Church bake sales, yard sales, out-of-county events or events with an admission fee may be included for $10 per week, paid in advance.
