Lonnie Oellerich

Lonnie Oellerich of Hephzibah was named to the dean’s list at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., for spring 2018 semester. To qualify, students must take a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Brenau University

Several local students were named to the merit list at Brenau University for the spring 2018 semester. To qualify, students must maintain a 3.5 grade point average while carrying 12 to 14 semester hours of course work and have no grades lower than a B. Students named to the list include Jennifer G. Hilderbrandt of Waynesboro and Tremaine Mullings of Hephzibah. Two local students were also named to the dean’s list: Brianna Latrice Mathis and Tiana Nazhae Myers, both of Hephzibah. Qualifications for the dean’s list include a 3.6 grade point average and at least 15 hours of course work.

Alfoneisha Green

Alfoneisha Green of Waynesboro recently completed the requirements for an Associate of Science from Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kan.

Makinizi Hoover

Makinizi Hoover of Waynesboro recently graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. She will continue studies at UGA this fall in pursuit of a Master of Publication.

Georgia College

Ansleigh Moore of Sardis and Abigail Saxon of Waynesboro were named to the president’s list at Georgia College in Milledgeville for spring 2018 semester.

Troy University

Several local students recently completed requirements for graduation from Troy University. Students earning degrees were Gregory Gober, Master of Science in counseling and psychology; Terrell Jackson, Master of Science in criminal justice; Betty Morse-Carter, Master of Science in counseling and psychology; Annunetta Smith, Master of Science in counseling and psychology; and Kendra Rhodes, Bachelor of Science in business administration.

Elizabeth Faith-Ann Mathews

Elizabeth Faith-Ann Mathews of Waynesboro was named to the dean’s list at Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon for fall 2017 semester. Qualifications include a minimum grade point average of 3.6 and at least 12 hours of semester coursework.

McKenna Lawrence

McKenna Lawrence of Hephzibah was named to the dean’s list at Jackson State University in Jacksonville, Ala., for spring 2018 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must be registered full-time and earn a minimum grade point average of 3.5.

Nesheika Caleb

Nesheika Caleb of Hephzibah was named to dean’s list at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta for spring 2018 semester. Qualifying students must earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average while taking at least 12 semester hours.

Georgia State

A number of local students were named to the president’s and dean’s lists at Georgia State University for spring 2018 semester. To be eligible for the president’s list, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average and have no fewer than nine semester hours. Local students receiving the honor were Treyonna Dreher of Louisville, Cindy Jones of Hephzibah and Brittany McLeod of Waynesboro. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must take a minimum of nine hours while maintaining at least a 3.5 grade point average. Students named to the dean’s list include Evan Berry, Nijah Dorch, Jazalyn Gay, Kennedy Johnson, Carri Perkins, David Quiles and Shakera Thomas, all of Hephzibah, and Jade Jenifer of Millen.

Wilton Meeks

Wilton Meeks of Waynesboro has been named to the Dean's List at Vanderbilt University.

A sophomore in the university's College of Arts and Sciences, he is the son of Elizabeth and Clint Meeks of Waynesboro.
